Lumiritz
Frequently asked questions
Direct answers to the questions homeschooling parents ask most often — including the ones where the honest answer is that something does not exist yet.
What Lumiritz is
What is Lumiritz?
Lumiritz is a learning system for homeschoolers, built today for children aged 4 to 8. It brings guided learning, practice, worksheets and hands-on activities, assessments, progress and learning records into one consistent experience, so a family is not assembling them from separate tools. Families can follow a structured curriculum available through Lumiritz, or build a learning path around their child's interests, needs and goals from the subjects and skills Lumiritz offers; either way, every unit follows the same model — learn, practice, apply, assess, record.
Who is Lumiritz for?
Homeschooling families with children in the early years, currently ages 4 to 8, and the parents or guardians who set up that learning. A parent creates the account and chooses what is available; the child does the learning. Lumiritz is not a product a child signs up for on their own.
Which grades and subjects are covered today?
The curriculum published in production today is Common Core Grade 1 Mathematics — one subject, built out fully and aligned to that standard, rather than a broad catalogue covered thinly. That is the curriculum currently available, not the scope of the learning system: the same learning model, worksheets, assessments and records apply to any subject we publish. Additional subjects and levels will be announced when they are actually available, and the library inside your account is always the accurate picture of what your child can reach today.
Can I use my own curriculum or resources with Lumiritz?
You set the direction; Lumiritz supplies the learning. Following a curriculum published through Lumiritz and building your own path are two peer ways of running learning, and families move between them: you choose the subjects, skills and priorities that suit your child, and Lumiritz provides the learning around that choice — guided teaching, practice, worksheets and hands-on activities, assessment, progress per skill and the learning record. What Lumiritz does not do today is import an outside curriculum's lesson content and turn it into Lumiritz lessons, so the teaching itself always comes from the Lumiritz library. Books and materials you use elsewhere in your homeschool sit alongside Lumiritz rather than inside it.
Is Lumiritz aligned to a curriculum standard?
The mathematics curriculum published today is aligned to Common Core Grade 1 Mathematics, and the curriculum structure records the standard each skill sits under. Lumiritz is not aligned to Cambridge, Pearson, CBSE, NIOS or any other framework, and does not claim to be.
Is Lumiritz a learning management system (LMS)?
No. A learning management system administers courses, content and users — enrolling learners, delivering material and tracking completion, usually for a school or a company. Lumiritz is designed around the homeschool learning experience and the parent and child workflow instead: a parent sets the direction, a child works through sessions with growing independence, and the practice, activities, assessments, progress and records follow from that. Lumiritz is also not a course platform or an AI tutor.
How much does Lumiritz cost?
Lumiritz is in early access and we have not published pricing. Nothing on this website should be read as an offer or a price commitment. If pricing matters to your decision, please contact us at care@lumiritz.com and we will tell you where things stand.
What does early access mean?
It means Lumiritz is available to a limited group of families while the product is still being built out, that features are introduced gradually, and that the coverage described on this site is what exists today rather than what is planned. Joining is done by a parent signing in with Google.
Can Lumiritz help me plan our homeschool week?
Yes — that is what Planner is for. It holds a child's Lumiritz learning alongside the rest of a homeschool week: external classes, practice, reading, activities, tasks, outings and other commitments. Activities that happen every week are set up once, you can look at the whole family's week or one child's, and the week can be printed as a child-friendly page. Children see their own schedule with a Today view and can tick off what they have finished; planning stays with the parent. Planner does not sync with Google Calendar or Outlook, and does not book or pay for classes.
AI, safety and independence
How is AI used in Lumiritz?
AI is used to generate and enrich learning content, to evaluate open-ended answers that cannot be marked against a simple answer key, and to support the guided parts of a session. Every AI execution is logged with the feature that requested it, the model used and the outcome, so AI use inside the product is auditable rather than opaque.
Can my child chat directly with an AI?
Not as an open-ended chatbot. AI works inside the lesson: it explains the objective, guides practice, gives feedback and can offer another example or more practice, which is what lets a child keep moving without an adult beside them. What it is not is a free-form conversation a child can take anywhere. When a child asks for help outside the lesson, that opens the shared family conversation which includes their parent, carrying the current lesson as context. There is no private child-to-model chat channel, and it is not a setting that can be switched on.
How independently can my child use Lumiritz?
A child aged 4 to 8 can open their learning and work through a session step by step on their own: the lesson states one objective and always presents a clear next step, and Lumi guides the practice. Early readers will need help getting started, and some offline activities are designed to be done with someone. What a child does not need is a parent running the lesson.
Do children have their own accounts?
No. The account belongs to a parent or guardian, and child profiles live inside it. Children use Lumiritz either on the parent's account or on a device the parent has explicitly authorised for that child.
What can my child access on their own device?
An authorised device holds a child session rather than a parent login. A child on that device reaches their own learning and profile, and cannot reach parent settings, other children's records, or account management. You can remove a device's authorisation from your account at any time.
Your role as a parent
Do I have to sit with my child through every session?
No. Your child does not need you beside them for a lesson to run, and Lumiritz is not designed around a parent facilitating each activity. What you do is set the direction — which subjects and skills are available and what your child focuses on — and then stay informed: you can look in on a session while it is running, read what happened afterwards, follow progress over time, and answer anything your child raises in the family thread. The judgement about your child stays yours; the running of the lesson does not have to be.
How do I know what my child is learning?
Through the parent area. You can see a session while it is in progress, the history of completed learning sessions with what was covered in each, progress per skill, the worksheets and assessments that were completed, and the shared family thread. None of it requires you to have been present.
How is progress measured?
Progress is recorded per skill and reflects what a child has demonstrated, expressed as whether their current grasp looks strong, still developing, or in need of practice. It is deliberately not a single headline score, and it does not measure time spent or activities opened. Checks for understanding happen inside sessions through quiz and open-response steps.
Does Lumiritz produce a transcript or a report card?
No. Lumiritz keeps a learning record: the history of sessions completed, worksheets and assessments done, and progress per skill, which supports homeschool planning, progress reviews, portfolios and family documentation. That is not an official academic transcript or school report card. Lumiritz is not an accredited school, issues no qualification, and makes no claim to satisfy a homeschool reporting requirement in any jurisdiction — check your local rules yourself.
Data and privacy
What data do you collect about my child?
What is collected, why, and how long it is kept is set out in full in the Lumiritz Privacy Policy at https://www.lumiritz.com/privacy.html, which is written in plain language and covers COPPA, GDPR and India's DPDP principles.
Can I delete my child's data?
Yes. As set out in the Privacy Policy, a parent can delete their account and all associated data, delete a child's profile to stop further collection, request a copy of a child's learning data where technically available, and withdraw consent for processing. You can start any of these by emailing care@lumiritz.com.
Join the early access program
