Lumiritz

What a parent controls, and what a parent sees

Your child doesn't need you beside them for every lesson. You still know what they're learning. This page describes exactly which decisions are yours and what visibility you get in return.

The account is yours

A Lumiritz account belongs to a parent or guardian, and child profiles live inside it. Children do not create accounts, and there is no signup route that does not begin with a parent signing in. You sign in with Google, so there is no additional password to manage or lose.

You decide

Decisions that are yours

  • Creating and removing child profiles. A profile needs a name, a date of birth and a companion the child chooses.
  • Setting up the learning path. Which subject a child works on and where they begin is your decision, and it stays editable.
  • Authorising devices. If a child uses their own tablet or laptop, you authorise it from your account. Authorised devices are listed and can be removed at any time.
  • Assigning skills. You can direct a child towards specific skills rather than leaving the sequence entirely to Lumiritz.
  • Planning the week. In the Planner you decide when learning happens and what sits around it — classes, activities, tasks and other commitments. Recurring activities are set up once, and the week can be printed for your child.

You see

What you can see

None of the following asks you to have been in the room. They are the views that tell you what happened while your child was learning.

  • A session while it is running. If you want to look in on what your child is working through right now, you can.
  • Sessions, after the fact. What a child worked through, step by step, rather than a summary you have to trust.
  • The learning history. Completed sessions over time, with the worksheets and assessments that went with them.
  • Progress per skill. Expressed as whether a child’s current grasp looks strong, still developing, or in need of practice — not as a single headline number.
  • Every request for help. Help opens the shared family conversation, so you see what your child asked and what they were working on at the time.

Together these are your child’s learning record: a history of what has been learned, practiced and assessed. It supports homeschool planning, progress reviews, portfolios and family documentation. It is not an official academic transcript or school report card, and Lumiritz is not an accredited school.

Why help is a family conversation. A child using Lumiritz has one place to ask for help, and it opens the household thread that includes you — not a private channel between a child and an AI model. This is a deliberate design decision, not a setting: there is no direct child-to-AI chat to switch on.

A child on their own device

When you authorise a device, it holds a child session rather than your login. A child on that device reaches their own learning and profile, and cannot reach parent settings, other children’s records, or account management. Removing the authorisation from your account ends that device’s access.

How much of this is your work?

Setting the direction is, and it is a decision rather than a chore: you choose the subjects and skills, and it stays editable. Running the lesson is not. Your child opens a session and works through it — the explanation, the practice, the worksheet and the check are all prepared and sequenced, so there is nothing to find, print-match or facilitate beforehand.

What genuinely helps is looking in from time to time: reading a finished session, noticing a skill that keeps coming back as needing practice, answering a question in the family thread. Lumiritz handles sequencing and practice; it does not replace your judgement about your child.

Your child’s data

Children’s data is handled under the commitments set out in our Privacy Policy, which is written in plain language and covers what is collected, why, and how you exercise control over it. Your use of Lumiritz is governed by our Terms of Service. If you want a question answered directly before signing up, please get in touch — during early access those messages often reach a founder.

Where we are today. Lumiritz is built for the early years of homeschooling, ages 4–8, and is in early access. The curriculum published in production is Common Core Grade 1 Mathematics — the subject available today, not the limit of the learning system. If your child is outside that scope right now, the honest answer is that Lumiritz is not yet the right fit, and we would rather tell you that than take the signup.

Join the early access program

Lumiritz is in early access. A parent creates the account and sets up the child's profile after signing in.
